What Trellis is
Trellis is a habit app you use with one other person. You pick a habit, invite your partner, and a shared plant grows on the days you both show up. That's the whole product, and it shapes everything below: almost all the data we hold exists to make that shared plant work.
Signing in
Trellis uses anonymous authentication. You get an account and a private identifier the moment you open the app, without handing over an email address or a password to get started. That identifier is how your check-ins, your patch, and your partner's patch stay linked to you across sessions and devices.
What we store
All of it lives in a Supabase-hosted database, encrypted in transit, and none of it is used for anything beyond running the app.
- Your account identifier and any profile details you choose to add (a display name, an avatar color)
- Your check-ins, including any note you write with them
- Your patch's state: the habit, the streak, the growth stage, and your grace-day bank
- Invite codes, so you and your partner can pair a patch together
- Subscription status, handled through RevenueCat (see below)
What your partner can see
Pairing a patch means sharing it. Your partner can see your check-ins, your streak, and any note you attach to a check-in for that patch. They cannot see anything outside the patches you share.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no ad networks anywhere in the app
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs collecting your behavior
- We never sell or rent your data to anyone, for any reason
Subscriptions
Trellis+ purchases are processed by the App Store and managed through RevenueCat, which handles entitlement and billing status on our behalf. Your payment details go to Apple, not to us; RevenueCat shares back only what's needed to know your subscription is active.
Your choices
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account permanently erases your check-ins, patches, streaks, and memories. If you're paired with someone, deleting your account lets your partner know so it isn't a surprise to them.
If you'd like a copy of your data, or have any question about what we hold, just write to us. The contact below reaches a real person, not a support queue.
Children
Trellis isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where it's a meaningful change, let you know in the app.
